A brand built around how people want to live

Background
Swanbuild has been building quality modular homes since 1975.
A family business with operations in Swan Hill and Bendigo, it delivers homes across Victoria, NSW and South Australia, with an established reputation in regional and rural communities.
Scooter has worked as Swanbuild’s marketing team for seven years, supporting everything from lead generation and customer communications to events and digital marketing. As the business expanded its range and reached new audiences, there was an opportunity to bring the brand into step with the business it had become.

Challenge
Swanbuild’s brand had strong recognition, but its identity needed to better reflect the quality of its homes and the experience it offered customers.
In a category where many builders look and sound alike, the challenge was to create a more modern, distinctive brand while retaining the trust Swanbuild had earned over decades.
The brand also needed to connect with people at very different stages of life. From first home buyers and growing families to downsizers and holiday home owners, each audience had different priorities. What connected them was the desire for a home that suited their lifestyle and a building process they could feel confident about.

Approach / Idea
We built on the positioning work Scooter developed in 2024, bringing Swanbuild’s strengths together around one idea: Modular, unique to your lifestyle.
The approach put customers and how they want to live at the centre of the brand. It highlighted the flexibility to tailor a proven home design, supported by a clear process and a team that genuinely cares.
This gave us a clear direction for evolving the identity: a modern, confident and approachable brand that reflected Swanbuild’s quality while retaining the trust and recognition it had built over decades.

Impact
The strategy established a clear foundation for Swanbuild’s brand evolution, connecting its reputation for quality with the personal, guided experience it offers customers.
It also provided a shared direction for the next stage of design, helping the team assess creative decisions against a consistent positioning and personality.
The planned identity and brand guidelines would carry this thinking across customer communications, signage, uniforms and other applications, with scope to extend the identity to Swanbuild Commercial.

The Scooter difference
Our long-standing relationship with Swanbuild meant we understood how the business worked, what its customers needed and where it wanted to go.
That knowledge helped us connect the brand strategy to the conversations already happening across sales and marketing. We could build on Swanbuild’s established strengths and give greater expression to the care its team brings to every home.
The result was a clear direction for a brand that reflected both the homes Swanbuild builds and the people behind them.
